Math Bowl Congratulations to Jesus Gutierrez and Nicolas Maldonado for representing our 5th grade class in our very first School Math Bowl! Both students did an amazing job, and I am incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

Wed., Jan 28 - Admin Appreciation Day - Sports Attire - Student-Teacher Volleyball Day
Thurs., Jan 29 - Teacher Appreciation Day - - Disney dress up Day (character/merch)
Friday, January 30 - Special Persons' Day Mass at 10am (Form sent Monday 01/12) - Formal Mass Uniform / Sunday Best - Do not bring bags / devices (please read emails from your child's teachers) - Bring snacks (we'll have early recess) and lunch (if staying for daycare) - NOON DISMISSAL **Daycare until 6pm - Fifth grade students may be checked out beginning at 9:45 a.m. from the recess line in front of the St. Jude statue. - Students who are checked out will sit with their special person in church for the 10:00 a.m. Mass. - Students who do not have a special person attending will remain with the teacher. - After Mass, all students who were checked out may leave with their special person.
Please note: Once a student is checked out, the adult becomes fully responsible for the student(s).
Deadline: Feb. 16: 2nd Trimester Mass Reflection (7 reflections required) (distributed on Nov. 17th) Feb 24: 100 %AR goal (85% accuracy)

Spelling Bee Our Classroom Spelling Bee is coming up on February 12! The spelling word list has already been given to students and is included again to help with practice.
Keep studying, practice your words, and do your best—we can’t wait to see our amazing spellers shine!
Griffith Observatory Field Trip, February 13th We are excited for our upcoming and final field trip of the year to Griffith Observatory on Feb 13, 2026. This will be a wonderful hands-on learning experience for our students. Details below:
Permission Slip: I will be passing this out tomorrow. This is due until Friday, Jan 30th.
Fee: $33. All payments must be made in the office. If you plan to send the payment with your child, please make sure to place it in an envelope, with your child’s name and put “5th grade Griffith fee”.
What to Wear: Regular school uniform. School jacket with logo. Comfortable tennis shoes.
What to Bring: Small Backpack with snacks, lunch, and a full water bottle.
Schedule: Departure from school: 8:00 AM Return to school: 1:00 PM Looking Ahead! - Classroom Spelling Bee: Our classroom Spelling Bee will take place on February 12th. - 100th Day of School – February 4th: Bring a used plain white shirt. We will do a t-shirt printing and draw 100 items on it!
