Ms. Genesis Garcia was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. Coming from a family of educators, she developed a deep passion for teaching at an early age and felt called to pursue it as her profession. She grew up in a Catholic community, attended public elementary school, and completed her secondary education at a Catholic high school.
Ms. Garcia earned her Bachelor of Secondary Education degree, majoring in Mathematics, from Far Eastern University, one of the Philippines’ most respected universities. She later obtained her Master’s Degree in Urban Education from Loyola Marymount University.
Now in her ninth year at St. Anthony's School, Ms. Garcia continues to serve as the 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher and teaches Religion and Science to middle school students. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, she serves as the Student Government Moderator, mentoring student leaders and encouraging active engagement in school life.
Ms. Garcia believes that teaching is a vocation that transforms lives. She sees her work as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and views herself as an instrument of God’s love and guidance. She is excited to share her knowledge and talents with her students while helping them discover, develop, and celebrate their God-given gifts and potential.
“Let us thank all those who teach in Catholic schools. Educating is an act of love; it is like giving life.” – Pope Francis
