10/26-10/30 Third Grade Highights

Dear Third Grade Families,
I hope everyone is well. Here’s a look at what's coming up this week, 10/26-10/30 Please make sure to read all important information to avoid questions that are clearly stated on all emails. - Oct 26th -1st trimester Mass reflection (5 mass reflections)
- Oct. 26th - Saint Brochure & Peg Doll Project (All materials sent Sept. 25th)
- Oct 30th- AR & ST MATH goals due (students are given time daily to work on these goals)
All Saints’ Day dress-up- Wednesday, October 28
On Oct. 28, Students may come to school dressed up as ANY Saint. Saint costumes do not need to be elaborate! We will have an All-School mass on this day instead of Friday. Students will process in Mass with their class in their costumes. Costumes should go over your child’s REGULAR/ PE school uniform, as we will be changing after Mass. Dressing up will be part of their Religion participation and work habits grade.- Costumes should be child-friendly. No inflatables, gory or scary clowns, devils, or scary costumes. No Pokémon, Harry Potter or witchcraft.
- Costumes should not:
- Be obstructive, offensive, or inappropriate for a Catholic school (no skimpy or revealing outfits, gory, evil, or violent themes).
- Drag on the ground.
- Contain sharp or pointed objects that could accidentally strike another person.
- Include weapons that resemble or could be mistaken for an actual weapon.
- Encourage cross-dressing. Boys dress like boys, and girls dress like girls.
Friday, Oct. 30- Halloween- Noon Dismissal, Daycare till 3pm ONLY:
To ensure that all costumes follow our school's Halloween guidelines, I ask that you let me know what costume your child plans to wear on October 30TH. Costumes must be appropriate and pre-approved, or a student may be sent home to change. UPCOMING EVENTS
- October 28 - All Saints’ Day Dress Up and Procession at School Mass,
- October 30- Halloween Celebration: Trunk or Treat, pep rallies, etc. 12 noon dismissal
- November 1 – All Saints’ Day
- November 2 – All Souls’ Day (pray for souls in purgatory)
- November 4 – #3 of 4 Mandatory Parent Faith Formation Meeting, last one is on 3/10 ($50 fine for each meeting of non-participation. Must attend 3 out of 4 offerings)
- November 5 – Picture Makeup Day
- November 13 – BLUE MASS for First Responders (followed by a reception in the Hall, please RSVP)
- November 18 – First Trimester Awards Ceremony in Hall K-4 at 8:00-8:45, 5-8 at 8:50-9:35
- November 20 – ADLA Fingerprinting at SAP
- November 23-27 – Thanksgiving Week Break
