6/1-6/5 Third Grade Highlights

Dear Third Grade Families,

I hope everyone is doing well! Here’s a look at what's coming up for the week of June 1-June 5. Please make sure to read all the important information below to avoid any questions that may already be addressed. Gradelink Blocked
Please note that Gradelink will be temporarily blocked as teachers are finalizing all grades. I am no longer accepting late work. 

Nicene Creed – Oral Prayer
If you checked your child’s grade for the Nicene Creed Oral Prayer today, you may have noticed that some students received an INC or a 0. These students were retested throughout the day but were still not prepared to recite the prayer independently.
Nicene Creed was assigned in early April, and there are still several students who are not yet familiar with the prayer. I will be retesting these students on Monday. Please take some time this weekend to practice the prayer with your child so they can be more confident and prepared.

Writing Our catholic Faith book
I would like to give a special shoutout to all the students who worked hard and completed their Writing Our Catholic Faith handwriting book today! I have already updated those grades in Gradelink.
For students who were not able to finish, I am extending the deadline until Monday so they can complete and submit their work. 
Please keep in mind that I am unable to finalize your child’s grades if there is still missing work. Completing assignments on time is important to ensure an accurate and up-to-date grade report.

End of Year Party
We will be celebrating with our End of Year Party on Tuesday, June 3rd! With the help of our room moms, we will provide lunch and dessert at 1PM in the classroom. The kids will be asked to bring a light snack to eat at recess and noon. It will cost $10 per student and that should cover food, dessert, and goodie bag. You will receive an invoice from Mr. Aguilar and please pay in the office by Wednesday, June 3^rd.

Ocean Institute bus fee
We received an invoice from the bus company that we went over the time, they charged us $165 on top of the $775 to pay. We will split this among the students. It will be $7 for each student. In total, party fee and bus fee total will be $17 for each students to pay in the office by Wednesday, June 3^rd.

Crossover Day
On Wednesday, June 3rd, your child will participate in Crossover Day, where they will meet their future 4th grade teacher, receive their summer packet and supply list. If you have any questions about this, please contact Mrs. Florence Ekindi

Lemonade War activity
Last week, we began preparing for our Lemonade War culminating activity. Students will work in teams to plan, make lemonade and invite other classes to taste and vote on their favorite. The students are very excited for this fun and creative experience! Our Lemonade War activity will be on June 10th, Wednesday.  I will keep all parents updated on when to bring their items for the activity.

Gently Used Uniform
Our Gently Used Uniform Sale is on June 4 from 7:30-8:30am and 3-4pm near the Brown Benches.

• June 1-5 – Last Week of School for 8th graders (12 noon dismissal all week for 8th grade ONLY, special activities)
• June 3 – Crossover Day for grades K-7, last morning assembly with the 8th graders before graduation, 8th graders sign yearbooks, pending 8th grade evening event
• June 4 – Gently Used Uniform Sale, 7:30-8:30am and 3-4pm on the Brown Tables
• June 12 – Last Day of School for grades K-7, Noon Dismissal Mass and Awards Ceremony in church after 8am Mass
• June 21 – Happy Fathers’ Day!
• July 6-31 – Summer Camp (sign up today with Ms. Pattie Padilla, we need at least 20, but capped at 40 signups)
