Dear 8th Grade Families,

Blessed Sunday!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday. I hope you were able to get a glimpse of what we have planned for an exciting and meaningful school year. Our first week of school has been a very positive and productive experience, and I pray that this spirit continues throughout the year.

Please review the following important reminders and upcoming events for the week of August 24–28.

Uniform Expectations

Regular Uniform: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
PE Uniform: Wednesday
Formal Mass Uniform: Friday

Please refer to the school’s Uniform Guidelines for additional details.

Please note: JH teachers will begin issuing uniform infractions on Monday, August 24.

STAR Assessments

JH students will be taking their STAR Assessments this week. Please ensure that your child:

Brings a fully charged device each day
Gets a good night’s sleep
Eats a healthy breakfast before school

Assessment Schedule:

Tuesday, August 25: Math
Wednesday, August 26: Reading

8th Grade Dave & Buster’s Power Cards Fundraiser

We are excited to announce our first fundraiser of the school year!

Students can sell Dave & Buster’s Power Cards to friends and family and earn 50% back. Power Cards are available in $10 and $20 denominations and can be used at any Dave & Buster’s location at any time.

First Batch

Sales: August 24–September 2
Card Release: September 4

Second Batch

Sales: September 7–September 18
Card Release: September 22

Medications & Medication Form

If your child needs to have medication administered during the school day, please make sure the required paperwork and medication are brought to the school office on Monday, August 24^th.

Medication Requirements

If your child needs to have an inhaler, EpiPen, insulin, or any other medication available at school, the following must be on file in the school office:

SAP Medication Authorization Form completed by your child’s physician and signed by a parent/guardian
Your child’s medication, provided according to the school’s requirements

For your child’s safety, medications are not allowed in backpacks, lunch bags, or lockers. All medications must be kept in the school office.

Parents, please also review with your child how and when their medication should be used, so they understand their medication routine.
