Catechetical Sunday, Sept 20
Please join us for Catechetical Sunday Mass at 11:00 a.m.! All families are welcome to attend.
Students must wear their complete formal Mass uniform in order to receive a free dress pass from their teacher after Mass. After Mass, please proceed to Room 5 to sign in and list your child’s name for the free dress pass or find any teacher.
Picture Day- Tuesday, Sept 22nd
On Tuesday, we will have our picture day. Students MUST come to school wearing complete FORMAL MASS UNIFORMS, CAMERA READY. Make sure their uniforms are complete and that hair is combed as you want it to be photographed. Full Mass uniform with white shirts/blouses, ties, vests, and cardigans are required for the yearbook photos. Please do not send your child in a PE sweater, windbreakers, Student Government sweater, or any other hoodies or jackets for these photos. Do not send girls with hair accessories that are not from Vicki Marsha and no extra jewelry, please, as they will be asked to take off or hide any necklaces. Only girls may wear stud earrings. We are hoping for a uniform look for the yearbook and student ID photos. A Vicki Marsha Uniform rep will be in the Hall to assist.Important Safety & Morning Drop-Off Procedures
An update regarding our morning safety protocol, which we began implementing last week.
As part of our updated safety procedures, the 3rd grade stairwell will be locked in the morning. Therefore, third grade students will need to use the middle stairwell to access our classroom.
Please plan accordingly and make sure your child arrives early enough to allow them time to walk to the middle stairwell and get to our classroom before the 7:50 AM tardy bell.
Our class typically goes upstairs to our classroom at approximately 7:45 AM. If your child is not in our classroom by 7:50 AM, they will be marked tardy.
Morning Drop-Off Reminders
- Please arrive early enough for your child to make it to the classroom by 7:50 AM.
- Third grade students should use the middle stairwell in the morning.
- Once you have dropped off your child, parents are asked to leave campus promptly to help us maintain a safe and orderly morning arrival.
- All gates will begin to be locked after the 7:50 AM bell.
Student planners
I kindly ask that you check your child's planner daily to stay informed about their behavior and homework assignments. The planner will reflect both their conduct for the day and any homework they need to complete. Please follow the homework outlined in the planner to ensure your child stays on track with their learning.
MATH HOMEWORK PAGES
I’m noticing some of our third graders are not following instructions on their math homework pages. Kindly encourage your child to read the instructions carefully before answering. The daily math homework pages assigned is a continuation of our math instruction in the classroom. Kindly make sure to check their planners for the assigned pages daily.
New Requirement for School Volunteers & Chaperones
An important update regarding the requirements for anyone who would like to volunteer or serve as a chaperone for school activities and field trips. In addition to completing the following:
- VIRTUS certification
- Fingerprint clearance
All school volunteers and chaperones are now required to complete a one-hour Mandated Reporter Training.
Please review the SB 848 Memorandum to Schools for additional information:
How to Complete the Training
- Open the SB 848 memorandum using the link.
- At the bottom of the blue section, you will find a link to the website where you can create your account.
- Set up your account and complete the one-hour Mandated Reporter Training.
- Once you have completed the training, there is no certificate provided.
- Please take a screenshot showing that you completed the training and send it to Mrs. Grey or Mr. Aguilar for verification.
Please make sure you complete this requirement if you plan to volunteer or chaperone for any upcoming school activities or field trips.
Third Grade Social – October 23 at Lucky Strike!
We are excited to invite you to our Third Grade Social on Thursday, October 23rd!
This will be a wonderful opportunity for our third-grade families to gather, get to know one another, and have some fun together outside of the classroom!

- Sept 22 – FALL School Picture Day for yearbook, 8:30-10:30 in the Hall! ☺ (Wear your complete Formal Mass Uniforms with white blouses and Oxford shirts, cardigans, vests, and ties for Yearbook photos)
- Sept 25 – Fall Chocolate monies due today to qualify for Trojan Drawing #2 on 10/1
- Sept 30 – Let teachers know if your child is Catholic or non-Catholic and if you wish for them to receive sacraments this year (due today)
- Sept 30 – 1st Mandatory Parent Faith Formation meeting in Hall at 6:30pm
- October 1 – Trojan Drawing #2 in Hall at 1pm, monies due by 9/25
- October 5-9 – Parent Conference Week, noon dismissal all week (conferences till 6pm daily)
- October 12 – Columbus Day/Indigenous People’s Day NO SCHOOL
- October 14 – Fall Fundraiser Ends
- October 16 – Fall Fundraiser Chocolate monies due
- November 13 – BLUE MASS for First Responders (followed by a reception in the Hall, please RSVP)
