Catechetical Sunday, Sept 21

Please join us for Catechetical Sunday Mass at 11:00 a.m.! All families are welcome to attend.

Students must wear their complete formal Mass uniform in order to receive a free dress pass from their teacher after Mass. After Mass, please proceed to Room 5 to sign in and list your child’s name for the free dress pass.

MATH HOMEWORK PAGES

I’m noticing some of our third graders are not following instructions on their math homework pages. Kindly encourage your child to read the instructions carefully before answering. The daily math homework pages assigned is a continuation of our math instruction in the classroom. Kindly make sure to check their planners for the assigned pages daily.

3^rd grade parent volunteer for Meet the Masters

We are in need of parent volunteers for Meet the Masters. All volunteers need to be Virtus trained and fingerprinted. No art experience needed; we will be trained. You pick the date and time you want to do it and coordinate it with me. Training is on Monday, September 29th from 6:30-8:30pm in the 4th grade classroom. The artist focus will be Frida Kahlo. All materials needed to teach the lesson are provided and you will be given the script and step by step instructions. You will earn service hours for attending both the training and for the time you spend teaching the lesson (about 4 hours total). The kids really love it when their parents come to the classroom and be their art teacher for a couple of hours!

Saint Brochure & Peg Doll Project- due on Oct. 27^th

All instructions, templates, rubric, and the peg doll will be sent home on Thursday, September 25^th. Each student has randomly selected a saint to research. This year, our school is focusing on Augustinian and Dominican saints. All project details have also been posted in your child’s Google Classroom. Please refer to either the classroom post or the materials that will be sent home.

 Natural History Museum fieldtrip

We have our upcoming 3rd & 4th Grade field trip to the Natural History Museum, happening in October 24^th. The total cost is $20 per student, which covers both the program fee and bus transportation. All payments must be made in the office. If you plan to send the payment with your child, please make sure to place it in an envelope, with your child’s name and put “3^rd grade NHM fee”

Friday, Oct 26^th

I will be out on Friday, September 26 for a doctor’s appointment. Mrs. Garcia, our long-term substitute, will be with the students. The class will continue with their regular Friday routines, including Mass, tests, library, and the science lesson. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
