9/29-10/3 Third Grade Highlights

 Dear Third Grade Families,
 

I hope everyone is well. Here’s a look at what's coming up this week, 9/29-10/3. Please make sure to read all important information to avoid questions that are clearly stated on all emails. Deadlines:

• Oct. 27^th - Saint Brochure & Peg Doll Project (Templates & instructions will be sent on Sept. 25^th)

Saint Brochure & Peg Doll Project- due on Oct. 27^th

All instructions, templates, rubric, and the peg doll were sent home Thursday, September 25^th. Each student has randomly selected a saint to research. This year, our school is focusing on Augustinian and Dominican saints. All project details have also been posted in your child’s Google Classroom. Please refer to either the classroom post or the materials that were sent home.

 Natural History Museum fieldtrip

We have our upcoming 3rd & 4th Grade field trip to the Natural History Museum, happening in October 24^th. The total cost is $20 per student, which covers both the program fee and bus transportation. All payments must be made in the office. If you plan to send the payment with your child, please make sure to place it in an envelope, with your child’s name and put “3^rd grade NHM fee”

Third Grade Social- Oct 3^rd, Friday @ Enclave

Our class social is going to be on Friday, October 3rd at the Enclave in Torrance from 5:00pm to 7:30pm.

 Every year, the teacher and room parents coordinate a class social so that we can all hang out and get to know each other. 
They have many food vendors to choose from and a space for our kids to play. Here's the link to their website if you'd like to plan ahead: https://www.enclavela.com/
 
 Please make sure you read these important notes:
 - We are not allowed to bring outside food or drinks. No exceptions. This is an Enclave rule that we have to abide by. You need to order from one of the vendors there.
 - This is mostly outdoor, so make sure you bring a jacket or keep it in your car
 - Student must be accompanied by a parent or a trusted adult
 - Enclave is a public place, so please make sure you are supervising your child. The school, teacher, or room parents are not liable for your child or your valuables.
 - Bring the whole family! Siblings are welcome!
 - We will try to reserve some tables and chairs, but if you see a spot that's open, feel free to snag it.

• Sept 30 – Let teachers know if your child is Catholic or non-Catholic and if you wish for them to receive sacraments this year (due today)

• October 1 – 1st Mandatory Parent Faith Formation meeting canceled (see Oct 11 option)
• October 2 – Trojan Drawing #2 outside by St. Jude statue at 1pm, monies due by 9/26
• Oct 11 – Fr. Spitzer event “Heaven is Real” (First Parent Faith Formation opportunity, takes place of 10/1 offering) $50 for non-participation: Choose 3 of 4 options per tuition contract
• Oct 31-Nov 2 – SAP Fall Festival (buy presale tickets to support this school fundraiser)
• Nov 14 – BLUE MASS for First Responders
