Hello Kinder Families!
Our Las Posadas Event will be on Tuesday, Dec 16.
Las Posadas shares the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge, where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus. When they were unable to find lodging in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary were forced to seek shelter in a stable, where the Christ Child was born.
Every year, the Kindergarten class re-enacts this event! This year, Kindergarten will be accompanied by their 8th grade big buddies. Students all dress up as one of the Shepards on this journey. We travel to each classroom at the school to ask if they have room for Mary and Joseph! At the end, students are to change out of their costumes and into their Christmas Sweaters to celebrate our Friendsmas Classroom Party before Christmas Break.
What does my child need to wear?
Students will come dressed and ready for school to resemble one of the villagers on our journey.
They can re-wear their Saint’s Day costume for this event too!
Underneath their costumes, they can wear their Christmas Sweaters to change easily change Into after the event.
