Hello Kindergarten Families!
We are officially just one week away from becoming Kindergarteners! I truly cannot wait to meet your children and begin this very special year together.
Starting this week, you can expect to receive a weekly newsletter from me throughout the school year. These newsletters will include classroom updates, upcoming events, important reminders, and information that is specific to our Kindergarten classroom. My hope is that these weekly messages will help you feel connected to what your child is learning and experiencing at school.
I will also post each newsletter directly to my SAP Blog, which you can access here: (https://stanthonygardena.org/
Friday, August 14th — Kindergarten Meet & Greet
Our Kindergarten Meet & Greet will be held this Friday, August 14th, from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.
This is an all-day, drop-in opportunity for you and your child to come visit our classroom, meet me and Ms. Raquel, and get a little more comfortable with the school before the first day.
During your visit, you are welcome to:
You absolutely do not need to stay for a long time. Even a short visit can be a wonderful way for your child to see where they will be spending their days and begin feeling comfortable in their new classroom.
One of the main purposes of the Meet & Greet is to give you the opportunity to drop off your child's school supplies ahead of time. This way, your child won't have to carry all of their supplies with them on the first day of school.
Please bring all items listed on our Kindergarten Supply List, with the exception of your child's:
Please also remember to bring your child's Extra Set of Clothes Bag and Emergency Supply Bag. These items will be kept in our classroom so that we have them available for your child when needed throughout the school year.
Kindergarten Information Form
If you have not already completed the Kindergarten Information Form, please take a few minutes to fill it out.
You can access the form here: (https://forms.gle/
This Google Form gives me the opportunity to learn a little bit more about your child before we begin our year together. I love getting to know my students—not just as learners, but as individuals. Learning about their interests, personalities, strengths, and the things that make them special helps me create a classroom where every child feels known, welcomed, and supported.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the form and prepare for our first week together. I know starting Kindergarten is a big milestone for both children and families, and I want you to know that we are here to make this transition as smooth, exciting, and positive as possible.
I am so excited for all the learning, growing, friendships, laughter, and memories that this year will bring. Thank you for trusting us with such an important part of your child's journey. We are looking forward to welcoming you and your child to our Kindergarten family!
See you Friday!
Warmly,
Mrs. Marian Garrido
