Kinder Week 1

Dear Families,

Welcome to a new school year! I’m excited to begin this journey with your child and look forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, and fun. Tomorrow, Tuesday August 18th is our FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! 

When you come to school, you will be welcomed to all wonderful SAP teachers and staff out on the school yard. We will have coffee and donuts available to parents only (no students!). 

Students are expected to:

1. Hang their backpack on their numbered hook.
2. Place their water bottle in our water cart. 
3. Place their lunch box for their snacks UNDER their backpack on the blue bench. 
4. Stand on their numbered spot in our line outside the classroom by 7:40am.
   We will have our all-school morning assembly tomorrow, so I will be walking our students to our morning assembly line near the St. Jude Statue. Morning assembly begins at 7:50am. 

Morning Drop-Off - Kindergarten Classroom

• Grades Kinder & 1st Grade: Students should be dropped off in front of their classrooms. The tardy bell rings at 7:50 am.
• Parent Guidelines: Parents should not stay on campus after drop-off or pick-up.
• Arrival Time: Please DO NOT drop off children before 7:30 am, as there is no adult supervision before that time.
• Entry/Exit: You may through the Berrendo gate and or along 163rd St. Parking is available on 163rd or inside the school small parking lot. 
  
  Afternoon Pick-Up - Kindergarten Classroom
• Kindergarten & 1st Grade: Students will be picked up FROM THEIR CLASSROOM. Please line up outside our Kindergarten door and I will be dismissing the students one-by-one. 
• Multiple Children: If you have multiple children, they will all be picked up from Kindergarten. 

First day of school reminders:

• Kindergarten must be dropped off in front of our classroom, they are not allowed to use the car line even if their sibling is. 
• Kindergarten has 12:00pm dismissal for 2 weeks.
• Day Care is available from 12pm-6pm. Please contact the office if your child will be going to day care and kindly make sure you pack their lunch if they are.
• Kindergarten has FREE-DRESS for the first 2 weeks. If you have your uniforms, I encourage you to wear them! 
• Although we have 12:00pm dismissal and NO lunch, we still have our snack at 10:00am daily. 
• Parents, I sympathize how difficult sending your child off for school can be. You may stand with your child in line to help them transition and feel comfortable, but you will not be able to come INSIDE the classroom.

Supply Drop Off
Our Kindergarten Meet & Greet was last Friday from 9am-3pm.

This was an opportunity for you and your child to come visit our classroom and drop off their school supplies. Thank you to those who were able to come by — I truly enjoyed watching our students get accustomed to our classroom! 

If you were not able to come, you may come by today from 9am-4pm to drop off your school supplies. Teachers will be in meetings today and completing our prep time, so unfortunately I will not be able to meet you and you can not tour the classroom/school today. Please leave your supplies on the blue bench outside our classroom! 

FREE DRESS
Students may wear PROPER free dress for this week and next week. Free dress clothing must be neat and modest. Parents/guardians are responsible to ensure that students are dressed in a manner suitable for Catholic school students. Students should observe good habits of grooming and personal hygiene and appropriate attire at all times.

The following are NOT appropriate at any time:

• attire with inappropriate text or images 
• Crop tops, tank tops, shirts with holes
• Flip-flops, open toed shoes or bare feet
• Overly torn/frayed, sagging pants 
• Colored/Dyed Hair or Extreme hairstyles
• Nail Polish 
• Long dangling earrings or large hoops

PARENT IMPORTANT FORMS
On the first day of school, your child will be bringing home several important forms that require your attention. These forms need to be read, completed, and signed.

Please note: All completed and signed forms are due back to the school by Friday, August 21st.

To show our appreciation for your prompt attention to these forms, students who return all the completed forms by the due date will earn a Free Dress Pass. Forms with missing information will not earn a pass so kindly double check everything. I will give out the free dress pass by Tuesday, Aug 25th. I will need time to go over and check each form.

PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK
Parents, kindly make sure to read our school’s handbook. The pages of the Parent/Student Handbook are filled with important information regarding school policy and procedures. Parents and students should review the contents together. If you have any questions, please call the school office. We feel that open and clear communication between school and home is important to the success of our educational program.

Choice Lunch starts 8/24/26 (Monday)
Hot lunch service begins on Monday, 8/24/26. Please make sure to place your orders online in advance! Kindergarten will NOT have our lunch break until Monday, August 31. Unless you are staying in day care, Kindergarten may make orders for the week of August 24!
