Kinder Week 20

Dear Kinder Families,

Happy 20th Week of Kinder! 

Last Friday, we had an eventful field trip to the LA Zoo with our Big Buddies and had the opportunity to see so many different animals! Thank you to our chaperones and parents who came to help us on our trip! You surely made it memorable for us!

This week, we are shifting back to our focus for our 2nd STAR Testing Window. I will assess students in small groups during our ELA block, and observe their data growth. Please carefully read through this week's news and events!

2nd STAR Testing Window
Our 2nd STAR Testing for Early Literacy will be on January 20-22. Please be sure that your child has a nutritious breakfast and ample amount of sleep! I will be testing students in small groups, so they will be tested on one of those days. 

Kinder P.E Time Change
I was able to coordinate a new time schedule for our Kindergarten PE block. We will still have PE on Wednesdays but during at 8:00am-9:00am instead of at the end of the day. PE uniform is required as usual.

Progress Reports
Progress reports will be going home on Wednesday, January 21 to share where your child currently stands academically during this 2nd Trimester. 

Catholic School’s Week 1/25-30th
Catholic School’s week begins on Sunday, Jan 25th! We will begin our eventful week with mass on Sunday at 11:00am followed by our open house.

Open House will be on Sunday, 1/25 from 12pm-2pm. Come visit our classroom to see our student's work and classroom environment! 

Monday 1/26: Parent Appreciation Day - COZY DAY! Dress up in a cozy outfit (no pajamas though!)
Join us for a treat in the morning! The SAP Faculty will be serving coffee and donuts to parents until 7:50am! 
Tuesday 1/27: Student Appreciation Day - CLASS COLOR (KINDER IS PINK!) 
Wednesday, 1/28: Administration Appreciation Day- Sports Day, dress up in your favorite team's gear! 
Thursday, 1/29: Teacher Appreciation Day - Disney Day! Dress up in your favorite Disney attire! 
Friday, 1/30: Special Person's Day - 12:00p Dismissal & wear your formal mass uniform OR your Sunday's Best Attire!

- January 21: K-8 Progress reports go home today 
- January 25: Open House 11 am Family Mass, Open House 12-2pm, Vicki Marsha on Campus
- January 25-February 1: Catholic Schools’ Week
- February 4: 2nd Mandatory General Parent Meeting in the Hall at 6:30pm ($50 fine for non-participation)
