Dear Kinder Families,
Happy 24th Week of Kindergarten! I hope your weekend was filled with LOVE! Thank you, for all the Valentine's Day goodies! This week is an extra special week, as we enter our Lenten Season on Wednesday. This is a time to reflect and deepen our relationship with God to prepare for our Christ's Resurrection.
Please carefully review this week's newsletter!
Wed Feb 18th - Ash Wednesday
Lent begins on Wednesday, February 18th. Students will wear their formal mass uniform as we will be attending mass to receive our ashes on our foreheads! Our Lenten season begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on April 2nd on Holy Thursday. For this season, we will be attending the Stations of the Cross every Friday too. There will be NO all-school mass this Friday!
SAP HundredX Fundraiser!
Our annual HundredX fundraiser kicked off today! This is a fun and easy opportunity that we can raise funds for our school without having to buy anything! Fill out as many surveys for different categories to earn $$ for our school! Last year, Kinder was one of the top classes -- let's WIN this year! Keep an eye out for emails from our PLC team regarding how to sign up and raise funds!
Make sure you sign up for "KINDERGARTEN"!
Kindergarten Lenten Project
We are partnering with 5th grade and Pauly's Project to create sets for the homeless. Kindergarten is asked to bring TRAVEL SIZED TOOTHBRUSHES AND TOOTHPASTE! I will be collecting items every day until March 5th!
Kindergarten Cap & Gown Orders
Last week, I sent home a Cap and Gown order form. This is a mandatory order for our Kindergarten Promotion in June.
However, this year we will be taking professional Cap and Gown photos on Thursday, March 26th with 8th Grade. Kindergarten students will need their own cap and gown for the photos -- I will be helping them put them on for the pictures and will help them store them nicely. Each set is $30, and must be settled with Mr. Aguilar! Please turn in your order form by Friday, 2/27 with the correct size!
Kindergarten Spelling Bee
The school Spelling Bee will be in March, and Kindergarten must submit 2 winners! Last week, I sent home a Kindergarten Spelling Bee sheet that consists of CVC words and sight words. Please practice these words daily with your child so that the are prepared! I will be choosing 2 winners and 2 alternates for our School Spelling bee!
Read Across America Week!
K-2 will be conducting a Read Across America Themed Week on March 1-5!
Students are invited to dress up on these theme days to celebrate our love for reading and to develop a stronger inspiration to reading! We will be having many reading activities so stayed tuned for some volunteer opportunities in the classroom!
