Hello Kinder Parents!
I'd like to bring up a few concerns and reminds for our Kindergarten class regarding recess and lunch.
Recess
Our recess is at 10:00am daily. I understand that there are days where your mornings can be more busy than usual, and you are not able to bring their lunchboxes on time in the morning. However, I have been noticing a pattern of students who wait to have their snacks delivered at 10:00am -- or not. Recess is short, it is only 15 minutes for the children to have their snacks, use the restrooms, and play. When they are waiting for their snacks, they do not have enough time to do all of these things. Please ensure that their snacks are inside their lunchboxes on our carts at the beginning of the day,
Additionally, I have emergency snacks in the classroom for those days where students may have forgotten their snacks. I am running low on these snacks because some students consistently do not have their snacks in the morning. I never mind providing snacks to ensure they are not hungry -- however, please take in consideration packing your own child's snacks and not relying on these emergency snacks.
Lunch
Lunch is at 12:00pm daily and is 45 minutes. Please remember that we have a new school lunch provider -- ChoiceLunch and these lunches must be ordered 2 days in advanced (there are no emergency lunches available anymore).
If bringing lunch from home/store, we have the lunch cart along the front gate for you to drop of if needed! Please ensure that if you are bringing drinks for your child, it can not be sodas or sugary drinks. If students receive sodas from their lunch meals, unfortunately they will be taken away and wasted. Water is the preferred drink option especially for our Kinder Kiddos as sugar really affects them in the classroom. Juice is allowed, however I recommend honest juice or juice that has minimal sugar amounts. Please refrain from bringing your children lemonade, HI-C, fruit punch, sweet teas, gatorades, and especially sodas.
I appreciate your continued support inside and outside of our classroom to ensure our students have the best day possible!
Best,
Mrs. Garrido
