Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Today is Super Bowl LX, featuring the Seattle Seahawks vs. the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California this afternoon. It’s so fun that in our class 9 students picked the Patriots (and I voted too), while 8 chose the Seahawks — so let’s go Patriots!!! I pray this email finds you well. Here's a look at what's coming up for the week of 02/09-02/13. Wax Museum
What is a Wax Museum? ( I am attaching pictures to this email, to give you an idea.) A wax museum is an interactive learning experience in which students research an important historical figure and “exhibit” themselves as that person. Students dress as their figure and present key facts, achievements, and contributions, bringing history to life in a meaningful and engaging way.
This project will be a special way for us to celebrate Women’s History Month and African American History, with a primary focus on African American scientists as well as leaders from the women’s civil rights movement. Students have been assigned a person on Friday.
We are planning to host our Wax Museum on February 12th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.. Parents and guardians will be invited to attend, and we also hope to welcome other classes to visit our museum.
How can parents help?
Help your child find or create an outfit that represents their historical figure (costumes do not need to be expensive—simple and creative is perfect!).
Encourage your child to practice their presentation at home.
More details about assigned figures, expectations, and project deadlines will be shared soon.
