Classroom Work Expectations Students are expected to complete their classwork on time. To support them, we have daily WIN time (What I Need time) built into our schedule to help students finish assignments.
Classwork is to be completed in class.
ST Math and AR tests must always be done in class.
Assignments on other platforms such as Freckle, Boddle, or others are expected to be worked on during class within that week.
Thank you for supporting your child in understanding and following these classroom expectations.Homework Every day, your child will write all their homework list in their student planner. This must be signed and returned every day. Use the planner to keep track of your child’s daily assignments.
Gradelink & Assignment Expectations We use Gradelinkto post and track student grades. Please make sure you have the app installed and check it regularly to stay updated on your child’s progress.
Whenever you see “IC” (Incomplete) in Gradelink, I also include a comment. Please take a moment to read these comments, as they provide guidance on how to help your child.
In class, I always remind students of the expectations when turning in work (name, date, and assignment number) and encourage them to turn in their assignments on time.
Make-up test policy (from 4th grade syllabus) Please email me if your child will be staying after school to make up missed tests. Failure to communicate with me in advance will result in your child receiving an IC on their missed tests. All make-up tests will be conducted on Make-Up Mondays (or Tuesdays if there is no school on Monday), and these sessions are by appointment only. If your child is sick, I recommend providing a doctor's note to excuse the absence. Parents are responsible for ensuring their child is prepared to take the missed tests.
Communicating with Mrs. Ekindi ([email protected]) To best support your child, please feel free to email me anytime if needed. I value open communication and am happy to partner with you to ensure your child’s success.
If you ever find that your child is struggling to meet homework deadlines or facing any personal concerns that may affect their academic performance, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I understand that life can be unpredictable, and I am here to support your child's educational journey. Together, we can find solutions to address any challenges they may face.
Please know that car line is not the best time for conversations, as my full attention is on making sure all children are safe and dismissed properly.
When communicating, I kindly ask that we always follow the Christian Code of Conduct and approach one another with understanding, respect, and the assumption of best intentions.
